Amber Union is the adaptive reuse and historic preservation of the historic TIES building in Falcon Heights. The TIES building was the former headquarters of the Farmer’s Union Grain Terminal Association, then occupied by the Technology and Information Education Services. A prominent building in Falcon Heights, the building was vacant for over a decade.

Through its complete redevelopment of the interior of the building, Amber Union has created 125 units of new, affordable housing ranging from studios to four-bedrooms. All units are affordable to households at or below 50% AMI.

The exterior limestone and marble exterior remained, while a playground, deck, and amenity space was incorporated behind the main building. Other modifications were made to increase the amount of natural light for the lower level units.
