Seward Square Apartments
2121 South 9th Street, Minneapolis, MN
Project Type: Rehabilitation
Seward Square Apartments, built in 1980, was designed in order to serve a disabled population. At the time of its renovation, in 2013, almost 20% of its residents were aged 62 years or older, and over 80% were disabled individuals.
An attractive five-story brick building, Seward Square is located steps from Franklin Avenue and the Seward Neighborhood’s main commercial corridor. Food, retail, recreational and transit are all easily accessed by residents. The rehabiliation included major improvements to the building envelope, landscaping, security, common areas, and dwelling units. Seward Square remains a highly affordable, 100% Project-Based Section housing resource for Minneapolis residents.
