Built in 1978, Eastport’s 78 housing units (spread across 14 two-story garden/townhouse buildings) were in need of updating and replacement of major building systems.  In addition the landscaping required better pathways and water management landscaping.

In light of the scarcity of affordable housing in and around Mankato, the rehabilitation of Eastport has allowed low income households, including many families with children, to affordably live in Mankato. In addition, NFAHS included tenant services catered to the families who call Eastport home.
