Westgate Apartments

Built in 1976, Westgate Apartments is comprised of 34 market rate units and 66 affordable units, of which 30 are Project-Based Section 8. In need of rehabilitation and at risk of losing its Project-Based Section 8 contract, Westgate Apartments was acquired and renovated by The Schuett Companies, a development company committed to maintaining the affordability of its properties throughout the State. Of the 66 affordable units, five will be reserved specifically for families experiencing long-term homelessness.

Westgate Apartments is a three-story elevator building on the Iron Range in Hibbing, MN.  The 5.44-acre site sits at the gateway to Hibbing’s traditional downtown, surrounded by hundreds of miles of trails, lakes, and rivers. Amenities at the site are numerous including an exercise facility, garages, three community rooms, a sauna, a playground, basketball court, and field/pet area.
